It’s a beautiful thing to be able to wake up everyday and have the land beneath our feet. Being
able to walk freely and breath freely on a place we call home. Well when looking at Amitav Ghosh’s
quote , “Climate change, mass dislocations, pollution, environmental degradation, political breakdown,
and the Covid-19 pandemic are all cognate effects of the ever-increasing acceleration of the last three
decades” I am warned about the fact that we might not have this freedom anymore. Everyday humans die
and more are born but to think that we are approaching the death of our shared home is scary. Now the
death of earth might be coming as Ghosh points that just over the last three decades so many important
and alarming things have come up that point to this but the question we need to ask is if the death will be
a natural death or is this a murder? To me I think we as the human population are the murders in this
situation we have continuously stepped all over earth and have continuously disrespected it. In order to
now save it we need to for once listen to science that is telling us these issues are arising and even goes to
help solve them its just about us stepping in and wanting the change. We need to acknowledge that these
are major issues and there is clearly a reason more keep coming us and need to push authority to take
action. Regardless of who is in charge the people have the power and in this situation we have to combine
our power with correct decision making and help turn this decline around. Even if we don’t benefit in our
generation from this think about your children and their children. Make changes in yourself so that the
change is made in people around you. One might see you doing something small as recycling and start
doing it and just your one change has now started a chain of changes. We are too busy being bothered by
useless stuff and hate we need to love more join hands and continue to prosper as the human race. This
quote calls for attention, calls for unity, calls for humans to for once wake up because the end is near.
Wake up now or you will lose the land beneath your feet.
